Denys first foray into the artistic world was as a fine detail painter and a lettering artist for about 40 years. She has taught lettering and calligraphy all over the world.
About five years ago she discovered “Foldforming”. Having the opportunity to attend the Alberta College of Art and Design in Calgary, Canada, under internationally known foldforming creator, Charles Lewton-Brain, Denys jumped at her chance. She has found her passion in the artistic world of copper, hammers and torches.
Denys and her husband, Stan, developed a machine which makes paper hammers which they now sell internationally; see link below.
She currently creates mainly wall hangings but also has stand-alone pieces and mobiles. Denys is always interested in the challenge of commission work and delights in the finished piece when the new owner first gets to see their commissioned piece.
